The Caro Emerald Tribute Act performs on new tribute TV show!
I received an email back in October 2013 which asked if I would perform my Authentic Caro Emerald Tribute Act on a brand new TV show named “I Can’t Believe” which was to pilot on Sky Showcase channel in February 2014. I was absolutely delighted to have been asked and immediately accepted the offer. It was also wonderful to find that the producer of the show from IndiVid films, Dean Pickersgill, actually lives in Holland and chose Caro Emerald Tribute Act due to my close and authentic tribute to the look and sound of Caro Emerald, as he and his wife are huge fans.
I drove to the selected location in Birmingham on a cold Sunday morning where I was met with an array of film cameras and most excitingly the other chosen tribute acts. Joining me were Gary Barlow, Katy Perry, Adele, Tom Jones, Paloma Faith, Rihanna, Cher, Pink, Rod Stewart, Roy Orbison and Elton John. I made some great new Facebook friends! Sitting in the dressing room it was a spectacular sight to see the transformations to their chosen alter egos. Then it was my turn! Dressed up in my custom made costume to mimic the outfit Caro wore on her Jools Holland performance, together with my fedora hat, I was ready to go! Caro Emerald Tribute Act….Lights, camera action!!!
Its all a bit strange being filmed on a green screen back drop but once the music began I dropped myself into character and the Caro characteristic left jazz hand took over!! I filmed 3 songs in total and it was an absolute blast!
The show aired, as planned, on Wednesday 26th February 2014 and I am told it was viewed by more 80000 people. That pilot episode is to be repeated in the run up to the full series starting in April 2014 where my other 2 songs will also appear. So look out for more performances on future shows of my Caro Emerald Tribute Act.
So here is the final result of my appearance on the show:
